COLUMBUS, Ohio — As progress continues on the construction of CMH Next, the new terminal project, Columbus Regional Airport Authority officials are advising passengers of upcoming traffic pattern changes. These adjustments are part of a strategic series of shifts designed to maintain safety and efficiency during this historic infrastructure project at John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

Beginning Monday, May 11:

  • Sawyer Road partial closure: A portion of Sawyer Road will close, preventing direct access from the parking garage to Hamilton Road.

  • Traffic pattern change: The traffic pattern will change for cars exiting the terminal; follow the posted signs.

Primary traffic recommendations:

  • All passengers are required to use I-670 and I-270 and International Gateway to travel from the parking garage to Hamilton Road.

  • All passengers are encouraged to use I-670 and I-270 and International Gateway to access airport facilities from Hamilton Road.

Key travel tips for passengers:

  • Plan ahead: Visit FlyColumbus.com to view real-time parking availability and explore your parking options.

  • Follow the signs: On-site digital displays and wayfinding signage will provide the most up-to-date directions for drivers.

  • Allow extra time: A partial road closure and detour may require extra travel time when accessing the terminal from Hamilton Road.

  • Know your parking options: As planned, the Walking Lot will close to new parkers on Monday, May 4. Passengers should use the parking garage, valet services, or the Red and Green shuttle lots as alternatives.
