COLUMBUS, OH — Beginning tomorrow, passengers flying from John Glenn Columbus International Airport have an additional nonstop flight destination with Delta Air Lines’ new flight to Salt Lake City.
“Columbus passengers have access to more nonstop destinations than ever before, and that expands with Delta’s launch of flights to Salt Lake City,” said Joseph R. Nardone, President & CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “As we plan for our new terminal, we continue to work with the airlines to help our passengers fly to their desired destinations.”
The flight operates daily to link Columbus travelers with business opportunities and leisure activities, from scenic winter sports to its vibrant city life. Salt Lake City was one of the airport’s largest unserved destinations.
With more than 3 million seats scheduled this summer for passengers to depart and arrive at John Glenn International and Rickenbacker International Airport, officials with the Airport Authority expect it to be the busiest summer ever.
This flight is one of 10 new routes opening this summer in time for summer travel including:
- May 8 – Spirit to Myrtle Beach (MYR) four times a week through July 8
- May 8 – Spirit to New York-La Guardia (LGA) daily
- May 22 – Frontier to Philadelphia (PHL) three times a week

TSA officials are also predicting the busiest travel season ever. These tips will help kick your trip off right:
Plan what to pack. Start with an empty bag and know what you can and cannot bring. Beginning with an empty bag helps ensure a prohibited item is not accidentally packed, causing a delay at the security checkpoint.
Make a parking plan. Arrive at least 90 minutes early for domestic flights and two hours early for international flights. Go to FlyColumbus.com to see the parking options and estimate your parking cost with our cost calculator.
Prepare for TSA security screening. Bring your REAL ID or another acceptable ID and remember the 3-1-1 rule for liquids. Check average wait times on FlyColumbus.com for security screening (note: those are averages and not actual times).
Realtime updates. Download your airline’s mobile app to receive real-time flight information.
