Your destinations, still within reach: Spirit Airlines update

Spirit Airlines has ceased operations, and we know that news landed hard — not just for passengers with upcoming trips, but for every Spirit employee whose dedication made those flights possible. Our hearts go out to the Spirit team and to the passengers now navigating unexpected changes.

If you had a Spirit flight booked out of CMH, here’s what you need to know: the routes Spirit served from Columbus are still flying. Other carriers have you covered.

Fort Lauderdale (FLL)

  • Southwest Airlines operates service to FLL on Thursdays through Mondays.
  • Allegiant Air also flies to Fort Lauderdale — departing from Rickenbacker (LCK) — on Fridays and Mondays.

Orlando (MCO and SFB)

  • Frontier Airlines flies Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays, growing to daily by summer.
  • Southwest Airlines offers 3-5x daily departures.
  • Allegiant Air flies into Orlando Sanford (SFB) from Rickenbacker on Mondays and Fridays; Wednesdays and Saturdays will be added to the schedule through the summer months.

Rescue fares for affected passengers

Several airlines have stepped up with special pricing for Spirit passengers. Here’s where to look:

  • Allegiant: Special offers for affected passengers (book by May 12)
  • American Airlines: Rescue fares in place on Spirit routes where American offers nonstop service (book through the app)
  • Delta: Reduced rescue fares available in affected markets (book by May 7)
  • Frontier: Up to 50% off with code SAVENOW (book by May 10)
  • Southwest: Prepared to assist Spirit customers (book by May 6)
  • United Airlines: Fare caps in place on most one-way United flights where Spirit also flew (for travel through May 16)
