For Central Ohio passengers, getting where you want to go has never been easier.
In 2026, airlines announced eight new flights from John Glenn Columbus International and Rickenbacker International Airports, continuing a period of unprecedented growth and giving passengers more options than ever before. With nearly 60 nonstop destinations now available, CMH and LCK are connecting our region to more vacation spots, business hubs and international gateways across North America, the Caribbean and Europe.
A year of momentum
This year’s announcements demonstrate the continued strength of the Columbus market and growing demand for travel to and from Central Ohio.
Among the new flights announced in 2026 were:
- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (on two airlines)
- San Juan, Puerto Rico
- Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida
- Austin, Texas
- Montreal, Canada
- Frankfurt, Germany
Most of these new routes are scheduled to begin service in 2027, giving travelers even more opportunities to reach popular destinations with the convenience of a nonstop flight.
From beach getaways to global gateways
The newly announced service offers something for every traveler.
Looking for a warm-weather escape? Destinations like Myrtle Beach, Punta Cana, San Juan, and Destin make it easier than ever to reach some of the most sought-after leisure destinations.
Traveling for work? Austin provides a direct connection to one of the nation’s fastest-growing business and technology centers.
And for travelers eager to see more of the world, this year brought two major milestones.
The launch of service to Montreal marked an important expansion of international connectivity for Columbus, while the announcement of nonstop service to Frankfurt represents a historic first: Columbus’ first nonstop flight to Europe. Frankfurt is one of the world’s leading international hubs, opening the door to convenient connections throughout Europe and beyond.
Why air service growth matters
Every new flight creates more convenience and more choice for passengers.
Nonstop flights reduce travel time, eliminate connections, and provide greater flexibility when planning a trip. They also strengthen Central Ohio’s connections to destinations that support tourism, business growth, and economic development.
As airlines continue investing in Columbus, passengers benefit from a broader network and more competitive travel options.
Looking ahead
The growth isn’t slowing down.
With seven new flights launching in 2027 and 60 nonstop destinations now available, we continue to build on our position as one of the fastest-growing airports in the Midwest.
Whether you’re planning a family vacation, a weekend getaway, a business trip or your next international adventure, your journey starts with more choices than ever before from Columbus.
