COLUMBUS, OH – Air service options for Columbus travelers continue to grow as Sun Country Airlines will begin flying for the first time out of John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH).

Sun Country will operate twice weekly seasonal flights from CMH to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) beginning May 4, 2023 through Labor Day. Minneapolis is among the top 20 markets for Columbus travelers and provides connections to popular vacation destinations including Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Orlando, San Francisco, Fort Myers, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Seattle, Tampa and Cancun.

“We’re pleased to welcome Sun Country Airlines to John Glenn International,” said Joseph R. Nardone, President & CEO for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “With Sun Country’s announcement of new service to Minneapolis, a top destination for Columbus travelers, we continue to expand air service to the most in demand markets.”

Columbus travelers now have access to nearly 50 nonstop destinations, more than prior to the pandemic. With the addition of Sun Country, travelers have 11 airlines to choose from.

“We’re excited to welcome travelers from the Columbus area to the Twin Cities via this new, nonstop route,” says Grant Whitney, Chief Revenue Officer at Sun Country. “Minneapolis/St. Paul has lots of great attractions that cater to people of all ages and all interests – including Mall of America, world-class museums, lakes and parks, art galleries, incredible sports, music and entertainment venues, great restaurants, breweries and so much more. We can’t wait to showcase Minnesota culture and hospitality to guests who are eager to create lifelong memories and transformative experiences.”

“In addition, we’re proud to offer Major League Soccer fans more opportunities to see the Columbus Crew and Minnesota United in action both at home and on the road,” adds Whitney. “We’re thrilled to add Ohio’s capital city to our growing Sun Country network.”
