COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus travelers will soon have expanded flight options following today’s Southwest Airlines announcement of increased service this fall.

Beginning in October, Southwest will significantly increase service to San Diego, moving from summer-only weekly flights to near-daily departures.

“San Diego has proven to be a popular destination, and this increased frequency addresses the strong demand since the route launched last year,” said Joseph R. Nardone, President & CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “We appreciate Southwest’s commitment to expanding service at John Glenn International and meeting the needs of our growing passenger base.”

Southwest is also boosting service to other key markets. Flights to Dallas-Love Field will double to two daily departures, and Orlando service will increase to five flights per day. These additions provide greater flexibility and convenience for travelers. In addition, Southwest launched a new route to Miami last month.
