COLUMBUS, Ohio — As the partial government shutdown continues, Columbus Regional Airport Authority (CRAA) leadership and staff extend their gratitude to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees who continue to report to work without pay, ensuring passenger safety and continuity of airport operations.
As spring break travel continues, passengers are encouraged to arrive inside the terminal at least 90 minutes prior to departure and to check directly with their airline for the latest flight information.
Community members who wish to support local TSA employees can do so in the following ways:
Anonymous small-denomination gift cards for gas and/or groceries can provide meaningful support.
Suggested amounts of $5, $10, $15, or a maximum for $20 per card for ethics compliance.
Gift cards can be placed in the secure donation box at the CMH Information Booth on the ticketing level.
Gift cards will then be passed along to TSA management for distribution to local TSA employees.
Donations to local food pantries, such as the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, can help support TSA employees and others in the community.
Groups or organizations interested in coordinating a meal for TSA employees may email [email protected] for details. On average, approximately 100 TSA employees are on duty at any given time, with about 200 total TSA employees working throughout the day.
We recognize the personal impacts this situation has on TSA employees and their families, and we are thankful for their continued commitment to serving our community.
