COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Regional Airport Authority Chief Operating Officer Casey Denny today announced that 2025 was another record-breaking year for passenger travel at Columbus airports.
“This record-setting year builds on the momentum we are seeing in this growing region,” said Denny. “By flying to more destinations than ever before, we are better connected to business hubs and popular vacation destinations that support our community’s growth. We aren’t just handling more volume; we are scaling our infrastructure with CMH Next, our new terminal construction project, to meet the growing demand in our region.”
John Glenn Columbus International Airport and Rickenbacker International Airport welcomed 9.36 million passengers in 2025, up from the previous year’s record of 9.25 million passengers.
Even more significant than the passenger growth is the increase in the number of flights. John Glenn International ranked fifth among the nation’s 50 busiest airports in flight growth, with a 7.1% year-over-year increase in 2025. Some of the increase came from a new nonstop flight to Portland, ME, and additional flight options were added to serve Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, and Orlando. New destinations announced for 2026 include Panama City Beach, Montreal, and Key West, while additional flights were added to Austin, Fort Lauderdale, and Los Angeles, boosting the already existing service at these destinations.
