Delta Air Lines departing CMH

COLUMBUS, Ohio — More than 400,000 passengers are expected to travel through John Glenn Columbus International (CMH) and Rickenbacker International (LCK) airports this Thanksgiving holiday season, based on scheduled airline seats. This marks one of the busiest travel seasons at our airports.

Travel day Scheduled departing and arriving airline seats
Tuesday, November 25 37,196
Sunday, November 30 39,822
Monday, December 1 38,206

The busiest travel day is expected to be Sunday, November 30, with nearly 40,000 seats scheduled to depart and arrive in Columbus. To help your trip land as smoothly as possible, the Columbus Regional Airport Authority is sharing some tips and reminders to help make your travel stress-free.

Plan ahead and give yourself extra time

  • The busiest times are early mornings for departures and late evening for arrivals.
  • Arrive 90 minutes before domestic flights and two hours before international flights.

Know before you go

  • Check parking availability: Review parking lot capacity and options before leaving for the airport.

  • Verify ID: Passengers 18 and older must have a REAL ID or other TSA-approved identification. Check the TSA website for the full list.

  • Speed through security: Consider enrolling in TSA PreCheck or CLEAR to expedite the security screening process.

  • Know carry-on rules: Remember the 3-1-1 liquids rule for carry-ons. Any spillable, sprayable, or spreadable item (liquids, aerosols, gels) larger than 3.4 ounces (100 ml) must go in checked luggage.

  • Familiarize yourself with the terminal: Review the terminal map to quickly locate gates, dining, and shopping options.

  • There is no curbside parking: Please use our free cell phone waiting lots located on International Gateway behind the John Glenn International sign or between the air traffic control tower and the terminal. Follow the signs to park.

We're ready to make your journey as easy as pie!
