Experience a summer to remember with these nonstop destinations

Hello Summer, aircraft wing flying above the clouds at spring like sunset

We have a busy summer ahead of us! With an estimated 14,300 airplane seats departing daily between June and August, we’re looking at the busiest travel season since 2019! Think you’re ready to get away and enjoy some relaxation? We have a number of new and returning routes that are the perfect pairing with summer.

New summer routes are bringing the heat

In early March, Breeze Airways announced three additions to their roster of nonstop flights from John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH).

  • Jacksonville, Florida: twice weekly nonstop service begins May 27
  • Providence, Rhode Island: twice weekly nonstop service begins May 27
  • Savannah, Georiga: twice weekly nonstop service begins June 4

A much anticipated route is returning just in time for summer

United Airlines recently announced the return of the CMH – SFO (San Francisco, California) route, connecting Central Ohio with the Golden Coast once again. The daily nonstop flight will resume operation Saturday, June 4.

Seasonal routes are making a comeback

Need some beach time on your summer schedule? Southwest Airlines is bringing back their CMH – Myrtle Beach seasonal route on June 5, while Breeze Airways is planning a return to CMH – West Palm Beach on May 21.

If the beach isn’t your thing…

Have no fear! We have plenty of non-beach nonstop destinations from Columbus, including Nashville, Dallas, St. Louis, Denver and more. And while it’s technically a seaport city, enjoy some sight-seeing with the soon-to-be twice daily service to Seattle with Alaska Airlines. You can always check out the map of our nonstop destinations from both CMH and Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK) on our website, FlyColumbus.com.

Don’t forget these few tips to make sure it’s smooth sailing (or flying)

  • Masks are optional in US airports and aircraft. Be sure to check what rules and regulations are in place at your destination so you’re readily prepared!
  • Be sure you’re federally compliant with your REAL ID by the deadline — May 2, 2023.
  • Get through the security checkpoint with ease by viewing TSA’s list of prohibited items and starting your carry-on packing with an empty bag.
  • Anticipate spending a little extra time at check-in and the checkpoints with summer travel underway. Arrive early, at least 90 minutes prior to departure for domestic and two hours prior to departure for international.

Airlines’ schedules are rapidly changing. Our nonstop destinations webpage reflects the latest flight offerings as of the date listed. Please contact your preferred airline regarding any updates or reservation changes.
